Tenure Track Faculty Position in Condensed Matter Physics The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure track position, preferably at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2009. Candidates working in areas of condensed matter, materials science, energy conversion materials, biomaterials, and electronic and magnetic materials are of particular interest. A minimum of a PhD in physics and two years of relevant post PhD experience are required. A computational condensed matter physicist is preferred. Among other facilities, a new $60 million NCAR supercomputer (http://www.uwyo.edu/news/webclips/showrelease.asp?webclipid=1482) will be available to the department. Evidence of ability to perform excellent research and teaching, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, will be expected of a successful candidate. Additional job requirements include service, advising and possibly outreach instruction. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous research program supported by extramural grant funding.
