MIT, 1983) Plasma Physics: FusionPhysics; Turbulence Theory and Nonlinear Dynamics applied to plasmas, fluids, and global change research; and research on Quantum Mechanical foundations and interpretations. Dr. Thayer is currently an Academic P rofessional in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Wyoming. Previous positions that Dr. Thayer has held have been as a Senior Scientist at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), as a Staff Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBL) at the Universityof California at Berkeley, and as a Post-Doctoral Scientist at the Institute for Fusion Studies (IFS) at the University of Texas at Austin and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Thayer is currently conducting research with the Math Department on wave propogation through the ionosphere, as well asresearch with the Computer Science Department on computational fluid dynamics analysis of chemical plume tracing using a swarm of robotic sensors. Dr. Thayer h as over 50 publications and has given numerous technical presentations at physics conferences during his career.
