Plots comparing the parent sample distributions with the randomly-selected subsample distributions

  • The 'Parent Sample' is based on 6 SWIRE fields and the FLS
  • The 'Selected Sample' is based on FLS and the 4 northernmost SWIRE fields
  • There are 1295 galaxies that form the Parent Sample (flag neither 5 nor 6)
  • Of these there are 800 'good' candidates (flag=0)
  • I have randomly selected 337 sources to form the Selected Sample
  • 337 sources w/clustering costs 199.6 hrs (we only get ~308 sources w/out clustering)

  • Using the bin-by-bin distribution presented in the GO4 proposal, I see that our predicted distribution does not match the actual distribution. So I have ignored the distribution presented in the proposal:
  • Using the actual bin-by-bin distribution from all 7 fields (I now adopt this distribution):
  • 8/24 colors. After chatting w/Lee, I will try to fill in the lower-left corner a bit, and add some 8/24~0.5 sources:
