Data locations ==================================== Near-infrared 3.6um /d/crow1/edges/data/nir/mosaic/ Shawn's mosaics but with foreground stars /d/crow1/edges/data/nir/masked/ Edited for major foreground stars (but just a subset so far) Optical /d/crow1/edges/data/opt/vanzee/ See README for which are star edited /d/pawnee3/davec/LVLbroadband/Data/optical/*/star_edit/ /d/pawnee3/davec/LVLbroadband/Data/sdss/star_edit/ Far-Ultraviolet /d/crow1/edges/data/uv/ /d/pawnee3/davec/LVLbroadband/Data/UV/FUV Mid-infrared 22um or 24um /d/pawnee3/davec/LVLbroadband/Data/IR/ Otherwise grab 22um W4 WISE images http://irsa.ipac.caltech.edu/applications/wise/ By June 23 (when Run #2 starts) ==================================== 1. Process all Run #1 ugr data to OTZF, align/stack, and WCS. 2. Calibrate Run #1 ugr stacks via SDSS imaging. 3. Divvy up ~3 galaxies to each person. a. May or may not already have deep ugr WIRO data from Summer 2014 b. Ideally galaxies for which the foreground MW stars in the near-infrared are already removed. 4. Carry out ellipse fitting on your 3.6um mosaics. By June 30 ==================================== 1. Carry out ellipse fitting on FUV and 24um. 2. Make multi-wavelength surface brightness profile plots using FUV, 3.6um, 24um By July 04 (when Run #2 ends) ==================================== 1. Process all Run #2 ugr data to OTZF, align/stack, and WCS. 2. Calibrate Run #2 ugr stacks via SDSS imaging. By July 11 ==================================== 1. Carry out ellipse fitting on optical data (ugr and/or UBVR). 2. Correct s.b. profiles for dust attenuation By July 17 (before Yellowstone trip) ==================================== 1. Foreground star subtractions from images (if necessary). 2. Smooth star-edited stacks to have 6" PSFs 3. Redo ellipse fits (your script machinery should already be set; just copy and paste to redo) 4. Learn how to use CIGALE code to find best-fit age as function of radius in your galaxies. July 28 to August 01 ==================================== 1. Carry out CIGALE fits 2. Work on posters. Include plots of: a. Multi-wavelength surface brightness profiles b. Age vs radius plots of your three galaxies c. Comparison of ensemble slopes in age vs radius plots 3. Optional: (learn how to) create a webpage of your REU experience
