From: George Helou Reply-To: gxh@ipac.caltech.edu To: Daniel A Dale Subject: justification Date: Thu, 12 May 2005 14:15:45 -0700 for the two galaxies we talked about today. N1566 has a bright spot in SiII that seems not to show up in other maps. It's right at the edge (upper edge in visualized map) of the LL, and not covered by nuc hi-res maps. I propose to put a extr-nuc "2nd look package" on it. Since it is at the very edge of the LL strip, I also propose to add legs to LL to make it wider, just to get the backgd right, and to finish covering the full ring on both sides. N4736 is a well-known case of fading starburst in center surrounded by star forming ring. One can see that in the NeIII being strong in ring but not in center. I propose to place an extra-nuc on the ring, bright spot in middle of LL strip, and also mke a wider strip of LL coverage to finish covering the ring. thanks george
