Observing Notes - 06/14/2017 Observatory: WIRO Observers : David PeQueen, Aylin McGough, Bethany Garver Notes: - Took 15 dusk sky flats in u' - Took 50 biases - Wind much calmer tonight than several previous, averaging around 10 mph. Skies were clear most of the night. - In order to achive max counts in the upper 20 to lower 30 thousands, we could only defocus to 2.25 mm, even with exposure times of 600 seconds. Our target star was approximately 30 pixels across at this focus. - Telescope tracking display on Claudius froze early in the night (around 10:10). We restarted Claudius to resolve the issue. - We took 34 science images. - The window heater was on from the previous night but did not adversely affect cryocooler. At 7:30, camera was found at -136 degrees C, and we warmed it to -110 to take our images.
