My background
I grew up in Minnesota and completed my undergraduate studies in physics and math at the University of Minnesota Duluth. My Ph.D. dissertation on bulk flows in the local universe was carried out at Cornell University under the direction of Riccardo Giovanelli and Martha Haynes. I was a postdoctoral scholar with George Helou at Caltech, and then came to UW in 2001. I am currently the Harry C. Vaughan Professor of Astronomy at the University of Wyoming, where I also serve as Associate Dean of Engineering and Physical Sciences. My full CV is here.
